Is it possible to get an email to an alias or other methods and log this email to the chatter in the contacts app?


If i send an email from the contacts app and the receiver replies emails gets logged in the chatter. (setup as MX entry)

I tried the incoming email server but i cant set it up to log the incoming emails to be logged in the chatter like replied emails.

Am i doing something wrong or how do i do this best?


Reason is that our sales persons also use there individual mail accounts to communicate with customers and these emails need to be logged. ( the mail plugin is to manual to be useful...)


Any suggestion to automate this would be helpful.

This is not the way communication works in Odoo.

You are supposed to hold conversations with the customer from Odoo document, like a CRM opportunity, an order, an invoice...

If you start a conversation in an Odoo document and the interlocutor replies to the email, this answer will be recorded in the document.

You can also enable email aliases Odoo to create documents (e.g. a CRM opportunity) when someone sends an email.
