I was wondering how people manage their staff competency register in Odoo. As I’m sure like most people you have a matrix that shows what an employee is competent to do and when a refresher course is needed (forklift, fire marshal, first aid,etc). Is there a way of recording this information in Odoo? Along with what level their skills are at and when they carried out the course and if it needs refreshing. On top of that to also show skill gaps ideally by department or group. There is no need to show a skills gap of the accountant not having an in date forklift ticket. Also, how they monitor it either with a notification or a report that can be run.

In setting in the Employee app activate Skills management. It wishould cover most of your requirement.
There are two qualifications to record: Resume and Skills. In Resume you record educations (external and internal) and certificates. You can record validity on certificates, like end date. And you can define others if you need.
Skills are not predefined, so can create what you need. Also with skills level.
