I see that under Manage Your Database we can create a backup, however, I don't find anywhere that it can be restored in the online version?  I know there was a database manager on the Community Edition, but that URL doesn't work for the Odoo hosted online version from what I can tell.

Hopefully I've just missed something.

Thanks!

Thank you, wasn't understanding the point of backups if you can't restore.  At least now I know how to request a restore should we have a problem (during the initial configuration process mostly).

Hi Chris,

You can find the official documentation regarding your SaaS database management at https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/12.0/db_management/db_online.html
Right now there is no option to restore a database yourself from the interface. You should create a report for this issue on the official help page  at https://www.odoo.com/help
Odoo can help you from there. I believe they can manually restore it if there is a good reason.

P.S: I also made a Github issue at https://github.com/odoo/odoo/issues/29899 to ask clarification so that we can document this for other people in the future.

Regards,
Yenthe

Hi,

Restoring a database is sometimes a bit tricky, you have to look out for a few things (filestore, versions, SaaS modules,...)
Allowing people to import databases potentially from a non-online server is not a good idea (a few things to adapt to work on the SaaS).
For this specific scenario, it is always best to go through the support.
Maybe if this is a frequent request, we will add the possibility, but at the moment we prefer to keep it a case-by-case workflow ;-)
