Settings -- > Modules -- > Apps This shows 178 apps/modules. When i check v6apps.openerp.com and I filter on trunk i see 1383 modules.

How can I see all modules ?

TRUNK means the next, currently unreleased version, of OpenERP.

In November 2012, trunk meant 7.0 (the version after 6.1). Today, trunk means the version after 7.0. It is confusing to have trunk listed on the v6apps.openerp.com site (a collection of modules for OpenERP versions prior to version 7.0.) and it really means at the time the module was released, it was for the trunk version. This is a mixture of 6.1, 6.0 and 5.0 modules.

The community is waiting for a hosted version of apps for 7.0. that they can contribute to or submit modules to.

'All modules' installed:

6.1 - Settings -> Modules -> Modules (click the INSTALLED filter)

7.0 - Settings -> Modules -> Installed Modules

'All modules' available to be installed:

6.1 - Settings -> Modules -> Modules (click the NOT INSTALLED filter)

7.0 - file system Settings -> Modules -> Installed Modules (remove the INSTALLED filter)

7.0 - online Settings -> Modules -> Apps (remove the FEATURED filter)

You need to download all those modules to your addons directory in your OpenERP installation. You don't need to download over a thousand modules, just pick the modules you need, download them, upgrade the module list and then install the module.
