You have to create a new database without sample data.

I think you cannot delete products because they may have been purchased by some sample customers, so their account have been filled with transactions data. (There are many cascading data in foreign tables while making a sell)

Sample data are for testing purpose. Once you get familiar with OpenERP , you have to create your own database.
