This is bit tricky situation.

I have 2 company (Multi Company) set in my Odoo database, Second company was set up after few months of first company.

Now while making invoice in second company  I was getting "Access Error" (Full screen shot attached) to fix this I have added user group in res.partner Company in Contact Model, by doing this I solved Access Error  I am no longer getting error but It created another issues my  Contacts from first Company visible in my Second Company. My Contacts already have Company assign.  Now I Don't to share my contacts in both company and Avoid this error as well.

any help would be much appreciated.

Same problem here, when creating invoice in other company i got the permissions error in contacts.

I've got the same even for read old inter company invoices created in v13

have you multi-company? if yes then chk the company of contact is set? if yes it means it will show or allow only one company.

I have been facing the same issue, but on the configuration of the second company chart of accounts, what I did was just select the two companies, then select the COA package for my new company, and save, it works.

Working through the same.  Not specifically "easy" so far.
If "record rules" are changed, as noted then, all companies see all the leads,sales orders what have you.  Not the goal.

I found that if I start with a "lead" and have company assigned "show blank" to start, then assign it to the appropriat company.  From there, important to switch to that company, take the lead, created opportunity,  quotation etc.

It would be nice to simply throw quotations/orders over to the second company but that creates all sorts of errors.  Best to start at the lead/opportunity and go from there.

This usually occurs when you have opened a record that belongs to company A (for instance) perhaps for update or something and you try to switch to another company. To avoid this error this error, the record in view has to be closed before before switching to company B.

Hello, 

be carefull when you add a new company, Odoo add a corresponding res.partner be carefull to put nothing in the company field for this one or at least the same as that new company.

i have the same error in v15 and i can't find the company field.
could you please provide more details how to solve this

you can found the Company field in the contact form, in Sales&Purchase tab.
If you don’t see any field, check if your user have access to at least 2 company in the manage users form in the setting. (Allowed Companies field.)

the company is set properly, do i need to change anything in the record rules
as it working normany for vendor bill but not working for invoices
noting that i can create a new customer normally

Sorry I’m afraid that I don’t have enough informations. In a normal situation you don’t have to change record rules.
