Hi,

i´m trying to assing a rout for each type of sales team, so the products can be correctly separated into their section in the warehouse.

For example:

I have these sales teams, each team represent a type product output sale we have:

1. Sales in TPV

2. Sales in website

3. Sales to companies (wholesale)

4. Sales in e-commerce like amazon.....

Is there a way odoo can let me stablish a rout for each sales teams , so i can identify in wich step is the delivery of these products.

or maybe there is another way this can be possible.

thank you, regards.

My recommendation would be not to set up several warehouses. The structure of warehouses and location should always be a mirror of the actual physical layout and organization.   If you don't stick to a basic rule like that, you will experience more mistakes in your process. (Like operators place incoming wrong, and later running around to search).

I would prefer to have several operation types for delivery. And the related Routes and rules. (I have set up this for my client). You might also define different out locations (source location in the operation) for each of those operations - if that is the layout of your warehouse.

Routes can be set to be selected on Sales order items. You might develop an action to set the correct route by sales team.

I´m not trying to generate several warehouse, the problem is that i have multiple locations in my warehouse.

example:
1. products for devolution
2. Damage goods
3. Products pending for delivery of clients online. (i dont delivery this products right away i have to wait for the truck to pick it up. this is why i set this location)
4. Products pending for delivery of clients of wholesale.

So the process would be the following:
if i made a sale online, the person in charge of inventory will look for the product and set it the location "pending for delivery clients online".

¿how would he know the locations of the products in the warehouse, for web sales?

The person in charge of the inventory will look into the system and see that the rout for this is the one set up in inventory.
1. Pick product from my location "warehouse general"
2. Move this product to my location "Warehouse web"
3. (expedition) Deliver this product to clients.

Conclusion: the issue i´m having is knowing which are the products that the person in charge of the warehouse will move to the location "Web sales". If any sale i make in Odoo through (website or sales module) are taking the same rout in inventory.

Intent of my response was to highlight the direct associations between product/ item (on a sale order line) to a route and Sale order (multiple items) to a WH in base Odoo. It was not to recommend setting up multiple WHs as a solution.

While your expected solution requires a relationship between a Sale order and a route, which isn't configurable without customization (server actions)

This association is also re-iterated in @Lars Aam response.

On a more specific note, your process of having to move items of an order to a dispatch location prior to shipping can be managed with multi-step (2-step) route. This functionality can be enabled from Inventory > Configuration > settings and then set on the warehouse Inventory > Configuration > Warehouse.

This would provide visibility into which location/ stage the order is in. Further you could set filters on the inventory operation to identify the type of order based on sales team.

Yet again these are concepts and not a solution, these need to be applied to arrive at a specific solution that meet your business needs (process & scale).

I think it is fully possible to configure operations and picking according to this requirement. There is a very high flexibility on the combination of:
- Two step picking,
- Source and destination location for operations and routes.
This configuration would be quite complex to set up. My approach to this would be to first make a drawing of the warehouse and where is the different locations. Then on the drawing indicate the different routes for the picking.
Decide wether you need two step picking. This is a setting on the warehouse.
Second I would define the operations needed. Then the rooutes and then the rules related to the routes. Each route can have different source and destination location.

The picking will tell the operator where to put what is for this picking. Wether you print picking lists or use picking withe the barcode app.

You mention damage goods. Managing damage goods is a different story. Odoo recommend using a separate location for scrap. You can register scrap during picking.

It is hard to imagine having and managing multiple delivery routes within a single WH. If the need is to only identify the delivery operation (route) based on sales team, then the suggestion would be to add sales team field to delivery operation.

Routes are triggered based on products (individual or product category) which are on the sales order line. If you wish to trigger route at the sale order level, you might want to consider having multiple WHs. Each WH can have its unique delivery routes (1 step or multi-step). A delivery WH can be selected on a sale order. By creating automated action it is also possible to set the WH on order confirmation.

WHs can be virtual and also be configured as locations. Provides for flexible and varied configuration options, however it could be a bit too heavy to manage for limited size of operation.
