Dear,

I have configured ongoing mail server with success.

and incoming mail server with success.



- system parameters


When I try to send a message to a contact and :

- I am logged as the user "accounting" who registered the email address in outgoing / incoming mail server, In this case From : accounting@xxx\.be,\ the\ message\ is\ sent\ successfully\. 

\-\ I\ am\ logged\ as\ the\ user\ ,\ in\ this\ case\ From\ : myself@xxx\.be\ I\ got\ an\ error\ message\. 

SMTPDataError:\ 554\ 5\.2\.252\ SendAsDenied;\ accounting@xxx\.be not\ allowed\ to\ send\ as\ myself@xxx.be STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied;


Any advices to close my issue.

There is a good description provided by Ventortech how to setup 365 mail in odoo in order to make it work. Just look for the blog "Office 365 and Odoo.sh and Odoo Online. How to configure emails". This can help a lot.

However... I already have had the situation, where an additional security level was involved. Due to this we had to setup the 365 mail account and had to make sure, that all emails going out are handled only by this emailadress without the need of "sending on behalf". I could have a look to the history if necessary. 

In General... From my point of view integreating 365 Mail in Odoo can be a pain... but it works.

Yes I followed the steps from Ventortech and got an update of the technical doc they made.
But with Microsoft all the emails from the same domain managed by Microsoft365, if you are not assigning ‘send on behalf’ each member of the same domain, no way to send.
Now with the extra module in oca, I am able to send to any contact any email and get back through incoming email.

Now my issue is working with multi-company, how to have one domain per company and able to create Alias

Have you solved this issue by now? Did you try the steps suggested by Mahmoud, regarding the permissions in Office 365 / Outlook?

My concern is :

- I have only registered ONE mail server (outgoing/incoming mail server) for the ODOO server.
I am expecting all the email exchange will be performed by this account. The email address used for is : accounting@xxx\.be\.

For\ example\ :

\-\ if\ Digest\ is\ sent\ to\ all\ users,\ it\ is\ done\ with\ accounting@xxx\.be\ account\.

\-\ If\ any\ user\ wants\ to\ send\ any\ message\ to\ different\ user\ registered\ in\ Odoo\ or\ external,\ I\ am\ expecting\ Odoo\ uses\ the\ mail\ server\ registered\ with\ accounting@xxx\.be

In\ my\ setup,\ I\ will\ not\ register\ each\ odoo\ user\ with\ their\ own\ email\ address\ account\.\ Most\ of\ the\ email\ address\ are\ "alias"\ or\ external\.

I\ don't\ believe\ Odoo\ is\ unable\ to\ process\ email\.

Then\ I\ am\ user\ "myself@xxx\.be"\ wants\ to\ send\ a\ message\ to\ "mycustomer@gmail.com" through Odoo. How to setup Odoo to have no issue with on behalf of ?

The error message "SMTPDataError: 554 5.2.252 SendAsDenied; accounting@xxx.be not allowed to send as myself@xxx.be STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied" is indicating that the user "myself@xxx.be" is not authorized to send email on behalf of the email address "accounting@xxx.be".

This is likely because the user "myself@xxx.be" does not have the necessary permissions to send email on behalf of the "accounting@xxx.be" email address.

Here are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Verify that "myself@xxx.be" has the correct permissions to send email on behalf of "accounting@xxx.be" in the email server (Exchange server or Office 365) that you are using.

  2. Check the permissions of the user "myself@xxx.be" in the Office 365 or Exchange server. The user should be assigned with 'Send on Behalf' permissions to the email address accounting@xxx.be.

  3. Check the settings of the Office 365 or Exchange server, and make sure that the feature "Send on Behalf" is enabled and configured correctly.

I am still with this issue.
As soon I am not using the user with the email account registered as outgoing email server, same error message.

Is there any system parameters to add and or install an extra module from OCA?
