Hi,

I would like to know whether items can be feed using bar code scanner. I tried to scan barcode from POS screen but nothing is happened. Then I focused cursor in search field, then scanned. Now the bar code number shows in search and got items list filtered. But it is not getting automatically added to sales items on scanning. A POS system should add item to sales list on scanning. But in OpenERP it need to manually click on that item after scanning, also need to clear search/scan field before scanning next item.

Please help me, Thanks in Advance

Here's the same. That's a functionally you should add with the highest priority.

You're on the right track but, yeah, scanning barcodes in odo's pos sometimes trips people up. The idea is, you just point and press, and the system jumps to action, adding stuff automatically. But what you’re seeing, having to click and clear fields manually, is too much hassle, not what you want in smooth retail ops.

Here's what's up: odOO pos can automate this to an extent, but it needs certain setups. Make sure your barcode settings align with the product database and check if the barcode you’re using is correctly mapped to the item. If there's a mismatch, it's kind of like trying to open a door with the wrong key.

I had to tweak this once in a project, and we tackled this problem using a mobile automation tool. It hooked up smoothly with their POS and ERP, allowing for easy scanning and entry. We used Cleverence, which is known for its handy API and offline features. This saved us from errors and improved workflow.

If Odoo's native POS setup isn't cutting it, maybe look at outside integrations. They usually allow real-time updates, which really helps when every second counts. Happy scanning!
