We do customer demos and sometimes they need an item from inventory that gets used up in the demo.  I have been transferring these items to a virtual location named "Virtual Locations/Shop use"  The numbers match but there is no time frame.  I want to be able to tell a salesperson they used X amount of items costing X dollars for a period of time (quarter or year).  I am also unclear as to what account these item get debited to if any.  They are no longer usable inventory and need to be written off.  In my previous system I created an MO directly to a GL account once per quarter then when I closed the MO I had the record I needed.  Is there a way to do this in odoo?  TIA.

You can calculate the quantity used by generating a list of the stock transfers to this Virtual Location.

The posting is controlled by setting an account on the Virtual Location:

From v17 onwards you'll also need to enable Automatic Accounting in the Stock Valuation section of Accounting settings.
