RO e-Factura is Romania’s official platform for sending and receiving electronic invoices, mandated by law for B2G, B2B, and B2C transactions. While other providers may charge per invoice, Odoo offers free, unlimited access to send and receive electronic invoices via RO e-Factura.

What is RO e-Factura?
RO e-Factura is Romania's official government platform for e-invoicing. It has been available for issuing and receiving B2G and B2B invoices since November 2021, and the ability to handle B2C operations was added in 2024. RO e-Factura was implemented as part of Romania's effort to align with the EU's VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) initiative. The RO e-Factura system ensures all invoices are validated and reported
directly to the tax authorities.
Am I required to use RO e-Factura?
Using RO e-Factura to report all B2G transactions to the Romanian tax authority has been required since September 2020. Mandates for B2B and B2C transactions were implemented in January 2024 and January 2025, respectively. This initiative aims to streamline transaction reporting, enhance tax compliance, and ensure that the digital invoicing infrastructure supports a robust and transparent economic environment. How much does RO e-Factura-compliant software cost?
Odoo provides free integration with RO e-Factura, allowing users to send electronic invoices to Romanian public administrations at no extra cost. Other RO e-Factura-compliant software or integration providers may charge setup fees, per-invoice costs, or subscription-based pricing.
