I am trying to set up and run Odoo community version and in the tutorial it is said that I need to clone enterprise edition as well and when starting the app I should pass enterprise edition as ---addons. If I want to only run community edition do I still have to clone and use enterprise edition?

enterprise edition is nothing but additional addons with enhance features, you can run community version and later you you can upgrade it enterprise if you have enterprise addons
