Hi,
In Odoo, when you want to manually validate the creation of a customer account in the E-commerce module, you can configure the system to require manual approval before new customer accounts are created. This manual validation process can be useful for various reasons, such as verifying customer information or preventing spam accounts. Here's a general overview of how to set up manual validation for customer accounts in Odoo's E-commerce module:
- Log in as an Administrator: Ensure that you are logged in to your Odoo instance as an administrator or a user with sufficient access rights to make system-wide configurations.
- Go to E-commerce Settings: Navigate to the E-commerce settings. The exact location may vary depending on your Odoo version and configuration. In some versions, you can find it under "Website" or "E-commerce."
- Enable User Registration Approval: Look for an option that allows you to enable or configure user registration approval. This option may be labeled differently depending on your Odoo version. Some possible labels include "User Approval," "Manual Validation," or something similar.
- Configure Approval Workflow: After enabling the manual validation option, configure the workflow for approving user registrations. This often involves defining who has the authority to approve or reject new customer accounts.
- Set Up Notification Emails: Configure email notifications to alert administrators or responsible staff when a new user registers. This will ensure that they can review and approve or reject the registration promptly.
- Test the Registration Process: Create a test customer account or simulate the registration process to ensure that the account creation now requires manual validation. You should see that new customer accounts are not immediately active and require approval.
- Review and Approve Accounts: When new users register, administrators or designated personnel will receive notifications. They can then review the account details and manually approve or reject the registration.
- Send Notification to Users: Once the account is approved, you can send a notification to the user, informing them that their account has been successfully validated and is now active.
Please note that the exact steps and labels
may vary depending on your Odoo version and specific configurations.
It's essential to consult your Odoo documentation or seek guidance from
your system administrator or IT team for any platform-specific
instructions. Additionally, you may want to set up specific security and
access controls to manage who has the authority to validate customer
accounts in your organization.
Hope it helps
Where is this setting ("User Approval" or "Manual Validation"). I've searched thought the whole settings, and cannot find anything that resembles this in any way. Is it a part of the eCommerce module, or do you have a custom module installed?
