Apparently, I must not have permissions to reply correctly, since it seems that the users who have replied are not being notified when I add comments to answer their questions. I'm also not permitted to post links, which is why I only have the title of the post above.
I am at my whit's end with this ordeal. We have paid good money to an Odoo developer to customize the Sales Details PDF report for the Point of Sale module. The only instructions when the files were provided were to "replace the existing files". Those files don't exist!
The zip file from the developer contains python files, a manifest file, and a XML file. The XML file has a few lines of xpath code in it, which is nothing like the code in the original Qweb view for the original Sales Details report.
I have even spun up my own test Odoo server to try and figure this out without risking the production environment. Nothing makes sense. Other instructions I've found for custom reports either contradict each other, are incomplete, or show files to replace that don't exist in my on-prem environment.
I am desperate here. My supervisors need this customized report, and it's taken me months to try and figure this out, and I can't. Please, I am on my virtual knees begging for help on how to apply this custom report that this Odoo developer built.
