Hi,

This is how lock dates are working:

  1. Lock Date for Non-Advisors:
    1. This setting restricts users not belonging to the "Accounting/Invoice Setup" group from posting accounting documents for past periods. For example, if you set the lock date to April 20, 2023, these users can no longer post to the T1 posting period (January 1, 2023 - March 31, 2023) after April 20, 2023. Adjustments are necessary at the start of each new period, like Q2 in April.
  2. Lock Date for All Users:
    1. Similar to the above, this setting applies to all users, including those in the "Accounting/Invoicing settings" group. It imposes restrictions on posting to past periods based on the specified lock date.
  3. Tax Lock Date:
    1. This setting prevents any user from altering accounting documents that affect the previous fiscal period after a certain date. For instance, in 2023, setting the tax lock date ensures that no modifications can be made to documents impacting the previous fiscal period after a specified date, contributing to the accuracy and compliance of financial records.
