How do people use Odoo payroll in the United States? 

We need a full service payroll provider who will file taxes on our behalf, comply with specific state payroll regulations, etc. We don’t want to accept legal risk or administrative hassles of doing all of that ourselves. I don’t know how many small to medium size companies in the US to personally run payroll anymore, it’s too complicated. Most accountants in the US don’t even do it anymore since ADP and QuickBooks can do it better and cheaper. 

Has anyone figured out how to get a full service payroll provider integrated with Odoo? if not, how are you handling the accounting on that? 

In the P&L, we want to separate the office vs production payroll, and we also wanna separate bonuses from salary. We have 60 employees so that’s gonna be a huge pain to do manually every week through journal entries.

If you are able to get your statement in CSV format you should be able to do a direct import into those accounts.
We have not got that far in our implementations but that was one of the items we covered when we were looking at moving to Odoo.
There is also the possibility of making a script to read the data and post it to the accounts, sorry I don't have exact details how to do it.

If you don't have any service pack hours it is a good investment and that is how we are managing our implementation, we do most of the grunt work and use Odoo technical team to do the complicated items.

Good luck, I will be watching this as well since we eventually we will need to do this as well.
