Odoo Apps is free

I am new to Odoo software but not new Technologies and i am now shifting from dotnet developers to word of source code.
I installed Odoo 17 on ubuntu server 22.04, really the installation was smooth and not hard.

But after installing some apps  such (Odoo helpdesk need to upgrade (license) while others not need such as sales and purchase.

The question is the usage of Odoo apps is not  almost free but the source code is 100% free.

Any one explain excessively to freeness of Odoo

There are two Editions of Odoo.
Odoo Community is 100% open source and 100% free.
Odoo Enterprise is "shared source" and requires a subscription (payment) for use.
