Good afternoon everyone,

I am using 16.0 on Odoo.sh

The date format in Odoo spreadsheets does not match my language. It is set as MM/DD/YY and I don't seem to be able to change this.

I have my language set as English UK, and the date format is %d/%m/%Y. No other languages are activated. In all other areas, dates display correctly in the DD/MM/YY format, except for spreadsheets.

How can I correct this?

Kind regards,

Will

I have the same issue and my developers say it just works like that, which is quite annoying. Especially considering that Odoo is a Belgian company and uses a European date notation. Is anyone from Odoo here that could shed some light on that? I'll probably make a ticket in Odoo support, I don't expect it would do anything but it doesn't hurt to try.

How to fix or work around:
  • No built-in way yet to change date format inside Odoo spreadsheets.
  • Dates in spreadsheets use a fixed format for now, ignoring locale.

Workarounds:

  1. Format dates as text in your spreadsheet (using formulas) to display DD/MM/YYYY manually.
  2. Export data and use external tools (Excel, Google Sheets) where you can set date format.
  3. Keep an eye on Odoo updates—this is a known limitation and may be improved in future releases.
