Business letter with letterhead / company header and layout V16

Question

We are are looking to write letters (no reports) with layout like company template, so like with letterhead. We would have customer details from the contact, date should be today as default but editable.
Subject of letter and content of the letterwould be 'freestyle' text, so not from any data field.
Idea is to have it similar as email templates, but generated as a PDF file with letterhead similar to reports. I tried several ways, also with Studio, searched within the community, with no success.

Hi Lars !
It's indeed quite amazing that such a basic need is not covered in standard in Odoo. Odoo would probably tell you that "nobody writes letters anymore".
I thought of integrating Odoo with Onlyoffice (an alternative to MS365) :

But, as I understand it, you wouldn't be able to retrieve the address of a contact to insert in your letter. So it wouldn't cover your need. But you would have a nice online word processor i

I think the easiest thing to do would be to create a new "Letter" application in the Studio.
You link it to a "Customer", add a few custom field such as date, text and any other details you need such a user signature or other.
Then create a pdf report with Header and footer, add the date and text and you are done.
