Hello!

I would like to know it there is a possibility to attach uploaded document to a product?

We are dealing with custom machined parts, and would be cool to have the drawings attached to each product, we have. An extra help would be if it would be possible to attach these documents to emails (RFQ, PO).

Any idea of package or help on how to solve this would be highly appreciated!

Thanks,

Istvan

It's great to hear that Odoo has a built-in solution for attaching documents to products using the "knowledge" module.

For anyone who wants to use this solution, you can follow the steps you provided by installing the "knowledge" module and enabling the "Manage documents" option in the "Knowledge" settings. This will add a dropdown menu called "Attachments" to every form in Odoo, including product forms.

From there, you can simply upload the PDF document to the product form, and it will be available as an attachment. This is a convenient way to attach technical information to products in Odoo without having to create custom fields or reports.

Hi Istvan,

This is a default option in Odoo. Simply install the module 'knowledge'. Next go to Settings > Knowledge and check on the box 'Manage documents'. From then on you will see a dropdown 'Attachments' on every form you have, including products. You can then simply upload your images on the correct product and you'll have them available there!

Hi,

when adding a pdf to the document APP, you have a share button accessible

If you click on it, the share link will be copied.

Go to the product form and create a new HTML field from studio (here "Pdf Link")

Then you can insert a text and link the PDF shared link to this one

(tips: you can place as many pdf that you want, just put several's words with different links)

Now you can add this field into a Sales or Purchase report.

The link will be reachable when sending the SO

Hi,

NOTE: The below has been done on ODOO 16

You could also configure the settings on the Documents module to allow the Products workspace:

Then, if you upload an attachment against a product, it should appear automatically in the documents workspace as seen in the below example:

  1. First upload a document as follows:

  2. Then View it in the Documents under the products workspace:

You can also see the link to the product itself from here.

Hi Istvan, this is a default module that is in your list of apps! Under Settings > Local apps you can search for 'knowledge'. For example: http://i.imgur.com/o8FoCQh.png

I'm using Version 9.saas~7e (Enterprise Edition) as a trial, but i can't see Local apps.. Will download and install a standalone version, hopefully that will contain it.

Hello! I have installed version 8, and i finally could manage to install the Knowledge module. I'm now able to attach drawings to products, but is it possible to automatically use these attacements when creating an RFQ? It would be great if the system automatically include the products attachments in RFQs. Is that possible? Thanks, Istvan

Also looking for a way to be able to attach product specifications to the email sent out to the supplier(now in odoo v13). Theoretically one could create a shared link through the Documents app for each document and manually add it to each RFQ but it doesn't scale if there are hundreds of purchase orders per week. Our business is watch assembling. A watch has ~20 separate components to be ordered from different suppliers.

To add a PDF to your products in Odoo, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the product page and click on the "Edit" button.
  2. Scroll down to the "Sales" section and click on the "Add" button next to "Documents".
  3. Click on the "Upload" button and select the PDF file you want to add.
  4. Give a name and description to the PDF file.
  5. Click on the "Save" button to save the changes.

Now, the PDF file will be attached to your product and your customers can download it from the product page.

Any chance you could elaborate on this. I can't seem to follow along. Are you starting from the sales app or documents?
