These accounts seemed to be rather strange to me, as from what I read from internet the Account Receivable and Trade Receivable are the same both are Receivable.

Yet at Odoo these are different?

Account Receivable (11210010) is listed as Receivable type

Trade Receivable (21100010) is listed as Payable type

If Trade Receivable is supposed to be Account Payable why label it as Trade Receivable in Odoo 17?

Thanks.

Hi,

Typically, the Odoo Chart of Accounts classifies Account Receivable exclusively as Receivable. The same applies to Trade Receivable, which is also categorized under Receivable. It appears that this may not be the default setting in Odoo's COA, as the standard code length is 6 digits rather than 8. It's likely that someone has altered the name or type.

In Odoo, "Account Receivable" and "Trade Receivable" might appear different due to specific configuration or reporting purposes. Generally, "Account Receivable" is for amounts due from customers, while "Trade Receivable" could be used for specific types of transactions. Checking Odoo’s documentation or settings can clarify this.
