Hello,

I'm facing an issue when trying to print receipts from the Odoo POS system using an iPad. Although the system successfully connects to the printer, the printing fails and shows the following error message:

"Successfully reached the printer, but couldn't print. The printer returned the following error: EX_BADPORT."

Here are some details about the setup:

  • Device: iPad
  • Browser: Safari
  • Printer Type: Epson (using Epson Server Direct Print)
  • Network: Printer is connected via local Wi-Fi

It seems that communication is established with the printer, but the actual print job doesn’t go through.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there a specific configuration or port that needs to be opened or set correctly for Epson Server Direct Print to work with Odoo POS?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

One of my customers just raised us this issue. I found your post. I'll ask if the POS is set with the same settings (iPad + WiFi).
Anyway, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to know that.
Maybe you should set this technical settings : https://www.odoo.com/documentation/18.0/fr/applications/sales/point_of_sale/configuration/https.html (safari is less easy than FireFox or Chrome)
