In this flow, Odoo will create an additional stock.picking to move the components from the main stock to a pre-production location. This way you’ll have a list of all transfers to be done to be able to complete MOs under the transfer Pick (inventory dashboard). As soon as the pickings are completed the components are reserved for the related MOs & are not available in stock anymore

If you don’t have available components you’ll see the “Component Status” as “Not available” in red. This is true even if only one component is missing.

If your components are ordered but not received yet, the “Component Status” will be in red with the expected delivery date.

If you received the components but you have not made the picking yet, the “Component Status” will be “Available” in orange and the “MO Readiness” will remain as “Waiting Another Operation”

You then need to do the picking in order to transfer the materials from the stock to the pre-production location. If the picking has been done you will see that the “Component Status” will be “Available” in green and the “MO Readiness” will be displayed as Ready in green :

Inside the Manufacturing order :

In this case we have 2 operations, so the first operation status is “Waiting for components” while the status of the second operation is “Waiting for another WO”, because we need to first complete operation 1.

You can access to the list of all the components to pick by clicking on the 3 little dots next to “Pick Components” in the inventory dashboard and then clicking in  “Operations” :

Please be aware that only components that have already been received will appear in the list :

Once the components have been received, the status of the work order (operation 1) is ready :

Once this first operation has been set as ready, the MO Readiness is also set as “Ready”

For multi-level BOMs :

When you are waiting for one of the components to be manufactured, the MO readiness status is “Waiting”. In this case all the components are available in stock but the semi-finished product still needs to be manufactured :
