The 2-steps manufacturing route (pick components and then manufacture) which creates 2 separate transfers (stock--> preprod and preprod--> production) is sometimes to heavy for smaller production processes.
So what’s the alternative if you don’t want to validate an extra ‘components’ picking step,but still would like to have an overview of the actual picking location?

Example:
Components are stored at the production work center in different racks.
The employee takes the components directly out of the correct rack when he starts a manufacturing order.
Steps:
--> Add a new One2many field 'picking operations' pointing to the Product moves (stock move line) on your manufacturing order (ex. create a new tab)
--> Result (after “confirm” + "check availability")
The employee sees the picking location of his components on the Manufacturing order
Hello,
I'm trying to apply your solution, but when I want to creat the new One2Many field, the field "Relation Field" in the "Base properties" section block the validation.
Doens't matter what I am trying to write, Odoo says "Many2one XXXX on model mrp.pruduction does not exist".
(I wrote mrp.production in the "related model" field, in the same section).
