I would like to restrict checkout from the website unless the customer meets a minimum order value in their cart. For example, proceed to checkout for order >= $10.
Is there any default setting or app that can do this easily?
Or how do I hide the checkout button unless the order meets a specific value?

Ok, the way we did this was through the Website > Configuration > Shipping Method.
Create Shipping Methods with the Provider > Based on Rules
Set conditions Price >= $X
Then the customers cannot checkout as there are no shipping methods.
