Hi, can anyone help me - how to do the cash sales for walk in customers in Invoice app.

Thanks for your time. 

I don’t get repeat customers, it’s one time purchases so I want to use cash sales option and email their invoices. 

I can’t create customer database for all.

Hi,Not clear about your issue , The possible way to resolve this  is to use POS module

Best Practices for Walk-In Cash Sales in Odoo

  1. Use the Point of Sale (POS) module, not the standard Sales/Invoice app – POS supports quick sales and auto-updates inventory and payments 
  2. Create a generic “Cash Customer” (e.g., named “Walk‑In Customer”) and assign all walk-in sales to this placeholder account
  3. Use a custom POS button or module (like “POS Walkin Customer” found in the Odoo app store) to instantly assign walk-ins without entering full customer details
  4. Session-based consolidation:
    Perform multiple transactions during a session, which are then posted in one go—no need to validate each sale individually

In Odoo, a Sales Receipt is a document that confirms a payment has been received from a customer, typically at the time of sale. It serves as proof of payment for goods or services delivered.


Unlike an invoice, which is a request for payment, a sales receipt is issued after payment is received, usually for immediate or cash sales. It includes details like the customer, products sold, quantities, prices, taxes, total amount, and payment method.


Sales receipts are commonly used in the Point of Sale (POS) module, where transactions are completed and paid instantly.
