Hello everyone!

In the past I've been working with odoo and I got some problems so I asked for help from somebody who is officialy from odoo. My odoo knowledge now is much bigger than when I started.

When this guy was helping me, I've seen that he was using Ubuntu and he was having an localhost with my Odoo on it. My odoo is actually on premise so he was not working on live server, he was working on his localhost. His localhost was looking something like 0.0.0.0:8069, something like that.

Please, teach me how to do that because I want to make some changes and I don't want to broke my live environment.

Hi,
It seems you need to set up local odoo environment in your localhost. In order to do that, depending on the OS you have, you can set up the odoo instance.

If you are having windows, you can download exe and install from here:  https://www.odoo.com/page/download

If you need to do development, you can set up a development environment using the Pycharm IDE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6YLxj3H5xc

Install script: https://github.com/Yenthe666/InstallScript

Thanks

Hi,

It appears that you're interested in establishing a local development environment for Odoo, allowing you to implement and test changes without impacting your live server. To accomplish this, you will need to configure Odoo on your Ubuntu machine.

Hope it helps
