Not sure if we are missing something but we are having a real hard time trying to print product barcodes. We want to print these directly from Odoo so we can place them onto our products. (Currently we print them outside of Odoo, but with 30+ products we sell and manufacture it would be way easier to do it directly from Odoo as needed.)
We can print the barcodes on 8.5" x 11" no problem. But if we change paper size to an appropriate small label so that we use (2" x 2" or 2.125" x .75" things simply don't work.
If we change the dpi settings it just makes the barcode smaller but not higher resolution. When we print on anything other than 8.5" x 11" the barcodes are completely blurry and won't scan. (Even 4"x6" labels same thing happens.)
We are trying on both Zebra and Dymo printers, and just on normal paper.
Are we missing something obvious? Do others have issues printing barcodes direct from Odoo?
Update - I ended up buying a dynamic barcode printing app. Still no luck getting this to work. The app outputs barcodes at a low resolution. (the text is crisp, but for some reason the barcode itself is not crisp (when zoomed in on the PDF). No matter what settings I change the barcodes come out terrible and will not scan. When made large they work, but smaller size they do not. And we are not making them that small. 2.125" x .75" is the label size.
Should we simply be using ZPL files? Will that make crisp barcodes? If so any apps that will print barcodes to ZPL easily?
Still perplexed how hard of an issue this is.
