1. Set up Analytic Accounts: To keep track of the expenses and income associated with any long-term project, Analytic Accounts should be created. Create new analytic accounts for your projects by going to "Accounting" > "Configuration" > "Analytic Accounting."
2. Create Purchase Orders and Timesheets: Make sure your personnel accurately register their time against the corresponding Analytic Accounts for each project on their timesheets.
   
3. Establish Budgets:  Create a budget. Create budgets for your projects by going to "Accounting" > "Budgetary Planning" > "Budgets" and linking them to the applicable Analytic Accounts.
4. Configure Revenue Recognition: The "Analytic Plan" feature in Odoo may be used to manage revenue recognition depending on the percentage of completion approach. You can specify revenue recognition guidelines for analytic accounts using this capability.
5. To create new analytic plans, go to "Accounting" > "Configuration" > "Analytic Accounting" > "Analytic Plans".

Automatic Revenue Recognition: it is The cutoff date is September 2021, Odoo does not come with an integrated automatic revenue recognition. To accomplish this automation, you should use custom development or third-party modules.

Manage Debt and Credit Entries: After setting up revenue recognition using the Percentage of Completion technique, Odoo will instantly generate accounting entries to recognize income as the project progresses. Your chart of accounts, analytic accounts, contract assets, contract liabilities, and revenue accounts will all affect which debit and credit accounts you use.
