We're have some issues with saving content in the Knowledge app. When we add data, we usually wait for 5-10 minutes with the page open to sync, and then refresh the page a couple of times to check if it's saved. The data sticks around as long as we're in the same tab, but if we close the tab and come back 20 minutes later, it's all gone! This has happened to a few of us.
Is there a way to force the page to save manually? If not, any ideas on how to fix this problem?
This could be a bug, so please report it to Odoo Support so they can investigate. Clicking on any other knowledge article will force a content synch (same as saving a page manually).
We've experienced the same at Gravitai.
It's annoying there's no physical 'save' button on Knowledge pages.
We conducted a few tests to see if we could uncover - and we suspect it can occur if you have an article in the 'Public Workspace' as opposed to 'Private' when multiple people are viewing / editing the same document at the same time.
I've submitted product enhancement ideas to Odoo - it would be great to be able to allow multiple people to write / collaborate on the same document at once.
What we've also tried to enforce 'saving' is to Lock the article, then refresh the page etc to check that it's saved (tip: make sure you select all and copy so that if it's lost you can paste back in)
We are experiencing the same bug here. As it was creating so many issue we had to lock the app and start taking notes in OneNote as it runs more stable. I reported the issue with Odoo Support. But I had the feeling they did not take a lot of notice of it and placed it on low priority.
Yea, I have two companies running on Odo. I've tried to get both businesses to start using the knowledge app for our knowledge base, but it doesn't really seem like it's production ready for large teams. The saving bug is a big issue, and you can't really ask non technical employees to remember to do this weird hacky workaround to get articles to save. We're switching back to our old knowledgebase and hoping they fix the stability issues in the next version so we can start using it.
It doesn't seem production ready for it's intended use case yet, but I have found it incredibly helpful for dashboard creation. IMO it's better than the dashboards app for that specific use case.
