I have these situations:

  • Two environment: 1) Development Env for Testing 2) and Production Env
  • In one environment, I put three application servers/VM
  • I just bought one license of Odoo Enterprise with self implementation and self hosting

The questions are:

1. Can one license applied in the development env and production env? If it can, how about cloning the development env to build the production env after the license installed in development env?

2. I already installed the Odoo in one of server, do I need to put the same license in the rest of servers? Or should I buy two more new license for the rest of servers? or is it okay only use once license in one server meanwhile the rest of server is not installed by odoo license?

Thank you for your help

Hi,

Once you bought the license, keep/register the received subscription code in the production database. In order to use this db in staging or in testing environment, you don't need to register the subscription code there.

In the test environment, you can created multiple database and this db will be automatically get expired after 30 days.

1. Once you bought license, you will receive the code as well as a subscription code, register the subscription code in production database.

For testing purpose you can create N number of db's which will automatically get expired in 30 days. If you need copy of live to test, you can take a back up from the live database and restore it in the test, once restore tick the Neutralize flag and once testing is done, drop the db.

2. No need to make a separate license for test instance, copy the code from production and create test instance.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

Thanks a lot for answering me. I see, so I can get free database for testing environment for 30 days. But, actually I need around one year to keep the DB in testing environment. How about that? Thank you once again.

Hi,

We are in the process of implementing Odoo.  We have a custom plan that we intend to bring on-premise.  So when we have on-premise can we create additional DB's to test with?  I assume the restriction is on the enterprise apps?

yes, you can created additional db's in your instance, but you can keep it only for maximum of 30 days for testing and it will get expired

Thanks,

So when you say expired does that mean deleted or ??? I would assume they wouldn't delete a local on-prem DB, right? Can one convert an expired DB back into the main subscribed db?
